CB&WC: Trees

Much has been written in praise of a tree,
the promise of roots, the elegance of branches
Coon'stree bw

I am awed by a tree’s durability –
how it adapts no matter the conditions

Tree trunk bw

how it bears its scars with silent grace,
remains steadfast in its presence –

no matter where I’ve travelled, the tree
is a reminder to be calm, and yet strong.

(Cee’s black & white challenge is trees. These are trees I’ve met in my travels – the featured one in Nanaimo Harbour, B.C., the second in Coon’s Bluff, AZ, and the last one locally.)

Permission to write, paint, and imagine are the gifts I gave myself when chronic illness hit - a fair exchange: being for doing. Relevance is an attitude. Humour essential.
