In L.A. we watched in awe as two golden eagles soared above.
I envy birds their ability to fly – to take to wing as the impulse dictates, and soar. This crow, one minute sitting dockside, decided to fly directly at me. Never quite sure which is a crow and which a raven, these birds were very vocal on Vancouver Island, as if elders ruling the land.
Closer to home, we’ve had several encounters with the Great Blue heron, a bird I never tire of watching.
Where would we go if we had wings, and how high would we fly?

That first photo is excellent.

I would fly over the walls and borders – those erected physically and those embedded in various minds (including my own) …
Magnificent birds you’ve offered to get the imagination soaring – thanks!

Wow, great pictures. I never wanted to fly. Am rather a very grounded person but I do love to watch and listen to crows.

Nothing wrong with grounded. That in itself is something to strive for.
