Our Town: A Slice of History

Situated at the crossing point of two rivers, our little town was once indigenous hunting ground, until European settlers arrived in the 1840’s taking advantage of the rich deposits of limestone. Much of the original architecture remains, giving the village an old world charm.

The television series, Murdoch Mysteries, has used our train station and one of our original streets as setting for two of their episodes.

No big city here, but all the sweetness of a thriving community of 7,000 people.

Permission to write, paint, and imagine are the gifts I gave myself when chronic illness hit - a fair exchange: being for doing. Relevance is an attitude. Humour essential.
