V.J.’s Weekly Challenge #45: Anniversary

“It’s been 45 years, today, since my father passed away,” Ric blurted out the other day. “He’s been gone for twice as long as I knew him.”

Easter is a hard time for Ric, as it linked to the loss of many people dear to him.

April 15th, for me, represents my first date with the man who would become my first husband, also on the 15th of April. It is bittersweet.

Dream study teaches that we carry memories of our past in our subconscience, and that every dream has an aspect of anniversary – a link to previous years.

As someone who has followed my dreams for over thirty years, I can tell you that this holds true, even if it is as simple as an echo of a former dream showing up in the current one.

So my challenge to you this week, is to pick a date (not necessarily a date of traditional significance) and look back. I will be doing the same.

What will we find? Progress? A rut? Humour? Or just something interesting?

Looking forward to where this might take us.

Permission to write, paint, and imagine are the gifts I gave myself when chronic illness hit - a fair exchange: being for doing. Relevance is an attitude. Humour essential.
