For the Love of Trees

I haven’t met a tree that didn’t have a story to tell, or at very least an invitation, as the trees featured, whose proffered shade entices.

This lone tree speaks to me of isolation and perseverance in times of strife.

Oh, the tales this old trunk could relate. I know my inner child stirs at the sight of all those nooks and crannies – surely a fairy castle.

As the late afternoon sun begins its descent, the trees provide the perfect curtain to protect my eyes so that I can capture the glowing orb’s last rays.

Inadequate an ode to these giant beauties in our midst.

Permission to write, paint, and imagine are the gifts I gave myself when chronic illness hit - a fair exchange: being for doing. Relevance is an attitude. Humour essential.

  1. So many tree survivors. Twisted branches that seem to keep on growing. I agree – every one has a story! My inner child sees climbing branches along with the trunk foot hold nooks and crannies. 🙂
