V.J.’s Weekly Challenge #69: kindle

My gears are seizing up; creativity sabotaged by self-doubts. The inner critic declares my efforts worthless. My paints sit dormant. I fear stagnation.

“I need something to kindle my inspiration,” I tell my artist friend.

Together we visit a local artisan’s workshop. A listing of art classes informs us of an upcoming sketching class. We sign up on the spot.

I’m hoping this is just the kindling I need to start my imagination’s fire.

How do you ignite motivation when stalled? Or perhaps, you perceive need for a kickstart elsewhere. Post a poem, story, or image that represents the theme to you, and link back here.

Permission to write, paint, and imagine are the gifts I gave myself when chronic illness hit - a fair exchange: being for doing. Relevance is an attitude. Humour essential.

      1. Thanks, dear. Keep practicing is the key word. Sometimes I fear that people must be laughing at what and how I write, then thought okay giving someone a smile is also an acievement.
