At Home

A perch to greet the world

a corner to keep my books
(could use some sorting)

A pot of home made soup on the stove
(Chicken tortilla – our favourite)

This is home.

Permission to write, paint, and imagine are the gifts I gave myself when chronic illness hit - a fair exchange: being for doing. Relevance is an attitude. Humour essential.

  1. You are so right – “Simple pleasures make a home.” And you have caught the essentials – Love your perch – and you have got IKEA patterns!
    Stay well, VJ.

  2. Always wonderful to have an outside perch to enjoy sunny days. I’m starting to spend more time on mine after two days of heavy rain. I think spring may be here, finally. 🙂

  3. It all looks so comfortable and inviting V.J.! I know a lot of people are having trouble staying home, but when you have a place that gives you so much comfort, it’s a pleasure to stay there. I hope you’re doing well and staying safe. How are your daughter and your mom? Sorry, I’ve gotten behind again and I’m trying to catch up….

    1. Not having time, means you are keep well occupied, I hope. My daughter is finally on the mend – that was brutal all around – and I know we are not alone in this suffering. Mom is fine, fingers crossed. Thanks for asking.

      1. I’m glad your daughter is healing and that your mom is still okay. I know it had/has to be stressful dealing with this. We’re staying well, just staying home except to pick up groceries and get our veggies for our garden. At least it’s nice outside (and for me, gardening time) so I’ve enjoyed being outside more.

  4. VJ, what did we talk about before we dined on your delicious chicken tortilla soup. Was it family? Was it what you were like as a child? Was it your favorite place to travel? Thanks for sharing a bit of your home. Keith

      1. Lovely. If I were there, I might have shared I had been to Texas on business several times, but never for pleasure. What part did you visit? Keith
