How To Start a Cult*

  1. Find an issue people are able to get passionate about, say, child trafficking.

2. Share information and increase the outrage. Start with facts, but insert the occasional manufactured story to test the waters. Maybe try Pizza Gate.

3. Increase paranoia by suggesting that so much is hidden from the public. Again, use actual cases, for example, Jeffrey Epstein, and then fan out. Did you know the monarchy is involved? (Not just Prince Andrew – use generalities.)

4. Agree that the mainstream media is complicit. Emphatically state that you are no longer following the complicit news. Shame others for doing so. Cutting off access to facts ensures successful indoctrination.

5. Develop a language that binds the group: fascists, sheep, chosen, etc. Make the followers feel special, superior. This will help alienate friends or family that might try to overpower your efforts.

6. Create dependency through thirst for information only you are privy to, or solutions that you alone hold.

7. Once hooked, you can broaden the scope of control to include your own agenda: i.e., overthrowing the government.

(*I do not condone starting your own cult. Cults strip people of their ability to think for themselves. Sadly, I have watched several people been drawn in by this criminal activity. Once indoctrinated, it is difficult to bring people back.)

  4. There are so many fine lines to cultdom. Some seem obvious (Pizza Gate), and others so mainstream (name your preferred religion). We all seek both a sense of belonging and a sense of being “in the know” hence superior to those who aren’t . Until things veer into ugly (violence and other dangers), I just try to accept that people are likely to believe almost anything. Am I above all that? Probably not. Live and let live.

  5. I couldn’t agree more. It all adds up to a cult mentality. This is so well said. The fear. The paranoia. Does it give people more of a sense of control to believe in a manufactured reality? Because then they are in a special club? Or thinking for themselves is too scary or they lack the self confidence to do so. Sigh.
    I ask myself “why?” all the time. I don’t know what the answer is, except for time. At least I hope so. Excellent image too.

      2. They are fed information, and directed to sites that deal in disinformation. Discouraged to stay away from others. I don’t get it either, really. My friend, who has gone down the rabbit hole sends me information and every time, when I google it, it comes as myth and is debunked.
