The River, My Heart

She holds my heart, this river following
the ages, seasons measured by her flow

Acknowledging change, she bears Winter
regally, swells with confidence as Spring rains

Will walk beside me in sunnier times, and
stay loyal as Autumn charms us with her flames.

My heart, my faith, always knows,
that at the end of day, the river glows.

Permission to write, paint, and imagine are the gifts I gave myself when chronic illness hit - a fair exchange: being for doing. Relevance is an attitude. Humour essential.
