Assigned to teach Civics, a dry subject in itself, I looked for ways to keep the class engaged. One day we were examining the language of some bill or another (can’t remember which) and in order to break the painful disinterest, I decided to read it out loud in my best imitation of the Queen of England. Faces lit up and turned my way and all were having a jolly good time when just at that moment the Vice Principal entered the room unannounced and proceeded to the back of the class.
Attempting to regain my composure, and my normal voice, I greeted her.
She was intent on finding and absconding with a particular student, and as soon as the two exited the room, we all erupted in gales of laughter.
“Do you think she heard you?” a student asked.
I stopped by the office after class to apologize for my shenanigans, but she hadn’t even noticed. Phew!

Times like this, we all need a good laugh. Just thinking about some of the exploits I got up to as a teacher (and come to think of it, student) always makes me giggle. I’m sure you have stories like that too. Can’t wait to hear them.
To participate, just create a post and link back here, or leave a comment below. All welcome.
Thanks for the chuckle.

For years I didn’t carry a camera. Have broken that habit now.

I can relate to this! I’m a teacher by profession, though I’m not teaching of late 😃

Lol. Then you know how many times we had to stand on our head to keep the class engaged.

Haha V.J, I can imagine the embarrassment I too had one many years ago, on which I had written a post. Linking it to this prompt.

Lol. Still makes me laugh. Not that I would adapt a different persona (I did that frequently) but that the VP didn’t even notice.
