Stopping to smell the flowers

I rushed to the grocery store for a few things before the kids got home, skipping aisles to avoid wasted time. Loaded the bags in the car and hopped in the driver’s seat before I noticed them: flower pots everywhere.

If I don’t have time to photograph the flowers, I decided. then something is wrong with my priorities.

Hope this floral moment helped you take a much needed pause too.

Permission to write, paint, and imagine are the gifts I gave myself when chronic illness hit - a fair exchange: being for doing. Relevance is an attitude. Humour essential.
