Preparing for our group of seven

As many of you know, Ric and I, along with our neighbours, Ian and Bev, have decided to host an extended Ukrainian family.  Our first big monetary challenge is helping them get here.  We have to date raised $5,600 towards flights, but since our initial efforts, flights have increased, and numbers have changed (Tania’s husband Mykolas is joining the family.). For those wondering, men with three or more children are exempt from fighting.  Mykolas did stay for one tour, but now is accompanying his wife, daughter Sofia (14) and twin 4-year-old boys, as well as Tania’s cousin Marina and son, Davyd (8).

This family has been delayed since the first of April, due to an error with paperwork for one of the children, but are now ready to fly.   As conflict escalates, and conditions worsen, we are anxious to help them re-settle in Canada.  Current cost of flights for this family of seven is around $12,000 CA.

If you are able to help please message me at 1womansquest@gmail.com.

Thank you.

Permission to write, paint, and imagine are the gifts I gave myself when chronic illness hit - a fair exchange: being for doing. Relevance is an attitude. Humour essential.

  1. This is so wonderful what you are doing and unfortunately I cannot help financially being dependent on government assistance, but I believe God will make a way for you and them! God Bless your kind and generous heart! 🙂 ❤
