Thinking of Ukraine

Antics from our neighbour to the South have empowered Putin and the attack on Ukraine has escalated. A friend reports that family back home are unable to work as their place of employment was bombed twice in one night. Another tells me the university in her city was bombed, destroying years old history. These are just two of the stories coming out of Ukraine.

I’m beginning to understand that war, in the true sense of the word, does not really exist. Terrorism, cruelty, and acts of unnecessary violence are what are actually occurring. In Ukraine as well as elsewhere.

It’s disheartening. I feel so helpless.

What can we do we stop it?

Permission to write, paint, and imagine are the gifts I gave myself when chronic illness hit - a fair exchange: being for doing. Relevance is an attitude. Humour essential.

  1. I don’t know what we can do to stop the atrocities, but I continue to speak up so that people remain educated as to what’s going on. Sadly, being in the middle of the US, the empathy is lacking, IMO. Good piece of news that I read yesterday was that there is some sabotage going on inside of Russia, undermining the efforts by destabilizing or destroying equipment. Seems like Putin’s people are turning on him. That is hopeful.
