Lesia, our Ukrainian roommate, planted five sunflowers in the garden below my bedroom window. They are now 8 feet tall and still growing!
Our Ukrainian friends visit and marvel at these giant replicas of their national flower. The symbolism does not escape me.

I love sunflowers! Iām growing some for bouquets this year, even though Iām allergic. Still hoping for a fair and peaceful resolution for Ukraine. šŗš¦
