But What Do I Know?

Here are some observations and thoughts from current events:

  1. A convicted felon, currently protected by the office of the presidency, has found a way to a) escape imprisonment, and b) fill his coffers.
  2. Said man’s time in office is running out. Short of declaring an autocracy, he can only hang on to power during wartime. Therefore, the motivation to incite war is strong.
  3. He employs ICE to stir up the population, boosting their numbers with new recruits. They are looking more and more like cannon fodder, as under his direction they escalate civil unrest.
  4. He invades a foreign country, kidnaps the president, and threatens further action against other countries, inviting war preparations internationally.
  5. In the meantime, he avoids further criminal charges on the home front.

The irony: the chaos he’s creating appears to be a product of his own mental decline. What’s left to pick up the pieces, I will need to ponder further.

What did I miss?

Permission to write, paint, and imagine are the gifts I gave myself when chronic illness hit - a fair exchange: being for doing. Relevance is an attitude. Humour essential.

  1. I think you’ve got it exactly right, VJ. I am just sickened by all of it. I don’t like to watch the news because it’s something new and reprehensible every day, but I don’t dare NOT watch it, because we need to know what’s going on.

  2. Though we always thought that a third world country like ours was in the lowest ranking where good governance was concerned, it seems the America is at the same level.
