V.J.’s Weekly Challenge #46: Response

For this week’s challenge, I thought it might be interesting to create a post in response to someone else’s work. This might be a poem in response to an image, or an image in response to a poem. It might be an imagined dialogue, or a response that demonstrates how the other has inspired you. As always, be creative, and remember to create a link to the original piece.

For an example, I found this meme on JOHAWKTHEWRITER site:

In response, I might write:

Ink is faulty, you know,
dries up, along with my thoughts,
leaves me despondent,
but only ever temporarily,
the fluid that fills my pen
sourced from the flow of life,
these veins a river –

Or, to Proscenium’s recent post about Trivial Pursuit, tornado watches, and chemo, I might respond with this image:

I think you get the idea. If you are interested, here are a couple more responses:

Dear Sylvia Plath

Dear Charlotte Perkins Gilman

Excited to see your responses!

Permission to write, paint, and imagine are the gifts I gave myself when chronic illness hit - a fair exchange: being for doing. Relevance is an attitude. Humour essential.
