I love your selection this week! The male Hooded Merganser is always spectacular. I have several photos but couldn’t find them. I admit, I didn’t try very hard. I’ve only seen a Golden Eye a couple of times but never a good photo. Thank you for sharing. 😊

Thanks Lisa. My photos weren’t the best, but it was a thrill to see them. The Hoodeds must have passed through here – only saw them briefly. Same with the Golden Eye.

You know…this challenge isn’t necessarily about great photos, it’s about seeing birds you’ve seen & now share so the rest of us can enjoy them too. I have so many places I want to go now. 🥰

Thanks for that. When we travelled across NA in our motor home, we encountered so many wonderful birds it got me started. Now back home, I’m rediscovering ours.

It took me watching “The Big Year” with Steve Martin, Jack Black & Owen Wilson to get into heavy birding. I have been photographing birds since 2003. Finding new species gets me super fired up. 🙂🙃🙂🙃😁

Me too! Or getting a photo of an otherwise elusive bird. I get so excited, I ruin the shot, lol

Oh getting rare birds takes the excitement to a whole new level. Lifers send me to the moon. Getting that flamingo was the biggest highlight to 2020 so far. 💜
