Snippets From a Life

Looks as if Ric is facing another surgery. We’ll know by the 13th, if not sooner. Meanwhile, my own illness is flaring, and the new treatment is causing severe nausea and other complications. Thank goodness for my camera, which takes me out of myself, if only for a moment. Here are a few snippets of images that help transport me.

My weekly challenge is: snippets. Won’t you join in?

Permission to write, paint, and imagine are the gifts I gave myself when chronic illness hit - a fair exchange: being for doing. Relevance is an attitude. Humour essential.

  1. Oh no! It’s one thing after another. So sorry your illness is flaring on top of Ric needing another surgery. A cascade of “things” you can’t control. Focusing the camera lens can be a welcome place if only for a few moments. The brain can rest a bit. That helps me too. Your photos are a prime example…especially the bird.

  2. Your snippets are each inviting me to abandon my own persistent issues for just a moment … THANK YOU for the reprieve! Got my fingers crossed for you and Ric coming out the other end of this tunnel of set-backs. Getting older can definitely re-level abilities and thus expectations and thus abilities – vicious cycle – all any of us can do is adapt day by day. So good you have ways to focus outward (photos, writing, art).

  3. Hope the days to come become a bit less challenging. Refocusing on
something can be healing, and your photographic focus
    developed into lovely photos.
    Sending healing vibes. ~elle
