Our multiple bird feeders provide viewing pleasure for us indoor voyeurs, and they attract a number of predators – also interesting, but perhaps not for the little ones.

Apart from the hawks, we have recently spotted a fox wandering through. Haven’t been able to capture a photo yet.

  2. We have been fortunate that the hawks in the neighborhood seem to avoid our feeders. But most of my cost for feed goes to provide the squirrels, and soon again the chip punks with food.
    I don’t know if you plant sunflowers for your birds, but we rim the garden with them, and in August enjoy seeing the gold finches go crazy pulling seeds out of the large seedheads.

    1. Oh, yes, the squirrels, chipmunks, and other critters share in the wealth too. We planted sunflowers last year, but I think the deer got them first.
