I spend a lot of time alone; it’s the nature of living with chronic illness. I am seldom bored. Perhaps, it as they say, that we come full circle – the essence of childhood rejoining me as I age. Alone time is when the imagination is free to wander, unrestrained.

I totally agree, though I usually put it down to my introversion embraced when I retired and an understanding parent gifted me with the book “Quiet”. I really never feel bored and rarely feel lonely. I feel lucky to love reading, writing and making art. I celebrate imagination.

I feel the same way, Sarah – never bored. Seems the imagination celebrates once the noise stops

No one uses alone time as well as the little ones do they VJ? Great to hear you’re finding the same thing as you age. Now if we could just figure out how to be as carefree as they are life would be grand!

When my surroundings are so chaotic I can’t hear myself think I get very agitated.

It looks like they are enjoying their alone time, VJ, I hope they did. And I am glad to hear you are seldom bored in your alone time! Creative people find it easier, I guess. I also like the thought of coming full circle t – letting imagination run free. Thank you for beautiful words and images that caught the feeling perfectly.
