I like your take on the prompt. What type of place is the building in the first photo?

It’s actually a row of shops on the bottom and apartments on the upper floor. This view is approaching from the river.

Thank you for the additional information, VJ. I’ve always been attracted to stone buildings.

Me too. It’s what attracted us to this small town.

I am a fan of old stone…love both photos VJ. And I enjoyed the peaks on the house and repetition in the cypress trees, too. Very appealing as are the tiny bits of gingerbread. Love! Thank you!

I’ve always loved gingerbread trim on old houses.

It is! You’re welcome, Victoria. When I lived on Martha’s Vinyard as a child, I would beg my father to take us to see the gingerbread houses in Oak Bluffs.

It was an ideal place for a kid. Unfortunately, we only lived there for two and a half years.

“Lines that guide” the eye around the page are an important aspect of composition in visual art. The trick is to keep the eye moving and the viewer interested. Both of these photos are very engaging.
