The old Opera House, made of stone, like so many of the buildings in our town, stands out on the skyline.
These salt and pepper buildings (as I call them) are unique on the Mississauga skyline.

They were great markers in a sea of normal highrises, that’s for sure

Intriguing photos and I especially like the first one with the birds in flight. Interesting the stark contrast in architecture.

Wow – you definitely nailed “unique.” What’s so interesting about the salt and pepper buildings is that they kind of require each other. Hard to imagine what they’d look like if there was just one of them. Thanks for the visual treat!

Those curvy buildings look like the set of a science fiction film. Stone, and lower to the ground, with birds, is more my style. (K)

I LOVE the stone opera house. The modern buildings are impressive, but they seem cold.

I think at one time they referred to the “curvy” building as the Marilyn Monroe towers. Is that opera house in Mississauga too?

the Opera House is in our little town, aptly coined “Stonetown”

What whopping contrasts, VJ. I’m mesmerized by the ‘salt and pepper’ buildings but give me old stone any day. Looks like home – warmth and goodness. 💕
