Birds are eye candy to me.
For Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge: Sense of Seeing
I’m a mug kind of gal –
Spot of tea – Earl Grey or herbal –
Feet up, mug in hand
a warm sip and I’m calm
Save the fancy china
for the birds!
(For Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge: glasses, cups, or saucers.)
Cold and grey
these Winter days,
I search for a sign,
a line that leads
beyond this dismay.
For Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge: vanishing or leading lines.
The joy of birdsong
Oh, how I long for Spring.
(For Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge: Spring Scenes)
I cast my shadow over white banks
assert my presence, proud, defiant
Will find beauty in deserted golf courses
and colour in a monochrome season
I am haunted by a Winter state of mind
resolved to stretch myself despite creeping chill.
(Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge is winter scenes. This Winter I am challenging myself to endure a season that typically I escape. I am determined to find the blessings. So far, so good.)
Winter paints the landscape in monochrome hues –
frosted blue waters reflected in iced trees,
The greys and browns of goose feathers
camouflaged against a buff backdrop.
(for Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge: Basically One Colour or Hue.)
We counter the Winter darkness,
those of us tucked in Northern climes
with vibrancy of colour to garner cheer.
Reds, and greens, to mark the holiday season,
messages of goodwill and alluring treats –
and light the night with magical glow.
For Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge: vibrant colours.
Evening light sets Autumn hues aglow
a gentle farewell to summer’s emerald rule.
Frost softens Autumn’s waning fizzle
casts a chilly mist inviting wintry dreams.
(For Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge: pastel/ soft colours)
