V.J.’s Weekly Challenge #44: Numerology

Numerology – the study of numbers and their connection to life patterns – fascinated me for many years. I came across a book, Numerology and the Divine Triangle which explained the Pythagorean theory of numbers. Like a psychic detective, I set out to uncover the mysteries of life, hoping, as we all do, to gain enlightenment and ultimately a modicum of control.

Of course, that is an illusion. Still, my awareness of numbers and patterns has never really subsided. This week’s challenge, for example, is #44 – a master number – supposedly noteworthy.

In numerology, 0 – 9 are the important numbers, and all other numbers can be reduced within this range. For example, to find your life path number you would add together birth month, date, and year like so:

(July) = 7
(25) = 2 +5 = 7
(1958) = 1+9+5+8 = 23 or 2+3 = 5

Total 7 +7 +5 = 19 = 1+9 = 10 = 1

So my life path number is 1.

(Token Rock has a life path calculator if my illustration is too complicated.)

Whether Numerology interests you or not, think about the numbers that have reappeared in your life. For example, throughout my marriage to my former husband, every house we lived in (and there were many) the house numbers added up to 3. Coincidence?

As always, I look forward to your answers.

      1. No problem…I don’t usually pay attention, unless I’m suddenly “obsessing”. I dare say Mr Perfect-Invisible is going to have to take me away for a vicarious vacation, once April ends 🙂

      1. Okay…I suspect I’m making this more complicated than I need to. However, I did the online thingy–and it was no surprise I’m a “7”…I fit pretty much everything 🙂

  1. One thing about you, V.J.–you give us hard prompts! Not a complaint, mind you–just that we have to really think some weeks…or really “feel”. This one will likely take the full week for me to do 🙂 Blessings to you ❤

      1. It does happen on occasion 😉 But right now it’s more a question of time/energy, than inspiration 🙂 🙂 April has been oddly grueling–however Today is a Good Day, yippee!!!

      2. Yep, you’re on my page–numbers are very symbolic in the Bible, for instance 5 mean “grace”…which I need a double portion of daily 🙂

  2. Interesting that you chose this topic, V.J. I’m still going through a slump due to mobility issues that overwhelm at times. Anyways, I found my numerology notes from years ago, while attempting to make sense out of my world at the time. Enlightening to re-read with different eyes. I’ll be back. 🙂

  3. Ah! Just ordered the book – will be my 4th Numerology book. “Challenge #44” caught my eye – all 4s and 44s catch my eye. My life has been a string of 4-yr sequences, and 4 shows up in various other ways. I dug into numerology a few years back as part of a broader spirituality class and was stunned at correlations. But the books were not easy to digest – perhaps I just had the wrong book! Don’t know that a poem will emerge from this, but thanks for spinning my gears back to numerology. (I’m a life path 11 – with 4s recurring – perhaps incremental “completions” of life segments? Fascinating topic.)

      1. Ahhh….interesting. Sychronicity too, as my daughter-in-law just celebrated her birthday which makes this a 4 year for her and I was just explaining what the implications might be.
