Going through the comments on this post, I’m having this feeling that the diners are becoming extinct in American society.
Is that true?
As for my country, we have tea cafes instead of diners. Also, roadside food vendors offering variety of items.

Still lots of diners where I live in Canada. Plenty of tea/coffee shops too. Fast food is popular.
