Ric and I took a road trip to Strathroy, Ontario last Friday, to catch up with old friends. We met at Alla’s Pierogies & More, a cute little restaurant with three tables and of course, the exuberant host: Alla.

Afterwards, we visited Mykola at his trendy bakery for tea and treats.

Alla and Mykola’s families are amongst the many I was able to help match with hosts in Canada. So inspired by their success.

Wow – I’m so touched by this. What a beautiful story you’ve hosted and help create!

Good for you VJ – so glad to see people helping people. And of course pierogis are one of my VERY favorite foods. My sister-in-law’s aunt use to make them for us but sadly she’s passed. I’ve made them a few times myself but they are TONS of work. I’d love to have a restaurant nearby that makes them but sadly no such thing – at least for now.

Thanks Tina. I am awed by the woman who take all that time to make the pierogies.

Great take on the challenge, VJ. Local eateries are always more fun than the chains, especially if the staff is friendly or family.
