Trying to muster up enthusiasm for holiday gatherings, but it’s no where to be found. What has helped me get inspired in the past, I wonder. The first thing that comes to mind is snow. There is something festive about waking up to that initial dusting of white.
Today, however; the bareness of the trees and the moody grey skies, just leave me feeling monochrome.
Maybe I just need a nap.
I feel you, VJ!

A nap, yes. And some color? Maybe start small with a few Christmas decorations? And add to it bit it by bit later? I know on days like this, it can take gargantuan effort to take that first small step. But the first step always proves to be worth it in the end.

maybe just find where the Christmas decor is stored, lol. Thanks Susan

Wishing some snow your way (and mine) for a little holiday spirit. We could use some cheer. We won’t have lights up this year, as hubby crashed his bike—several broken bones, one requiring surgery (yesterday).

Oh my god, Eilene. How everything can change in a second. Take care.

I’m fine for holiday gatherings. They will just be with my husband and me, Zoom gift-opening on Christmas with our daughter and son-in-law. I agree with you about the necessity of snow on Christmas.

That sounds wonderful Liz, although I’m sure you’d like your daughter present. Our family when we come together make 15, which is okay. It’s all the bigger parties going on that I shy away from.

Yes, Thanksgiving and Christmas are always better when our daughter’s with us.

I don’t feel much enthusiasm for the approaching holiday season either…
I took some pictures and videos for my vlog yesterday during the dog walks and kind of marveled at the natural beauty I missed in November. The weird coloured sky, shot through bare branches for instance. It inspires a bit of a “wake up and pay attention” mentality.
It’s odd, I think of November as blah, but if you look at a snapshot through a different lens, or even from a different angle, you suddenly see something in a new light.
Think the Hanging Man tarot card.
Also I love your art! Did you have two accounts? For some reason I’m not seeing anything on the other account anymore…

Yes I have two accounts. I only publish once a week on either. It’s about all I can muster these days.
November has been actually pretty this year – I’m just missing much of it for appointments and feeling sorry for myself 🙃
The Hanging Man haunted me for two years when I started my Tarot journey, so I almost choked when you mentioned it. Lol.

A nap like Van Winkle perhaps? like – wake me when it’s over? Sounds glum VJ

I hear you! We have lots of white stuff here, but I have already grown weary of the shovelling and dread the coming season. If I could, I would gladly share some of the white fluffy stuff to lift your spirits.

Oh no. I wonder if it will be a long, white winter this year. The first few snowfalls are magical, but I agree, it gets tedious.
