Performance Success and MC Fail

The children were decked out in their finest, and polished in their performances. An Easter event combining Ukrainian tradition with Canadian touches. It was a thank you for the volunteers who help the children with homework.

I was the MC.

Rounds of applause and smiles all around and then it was time for tea, coffee, and snacks, followed by closing remarks.
That was my cue.

I rose from my chair and my foot caught on something at my feet. I was down before I could register what was happening. Head, wrist, hip, and knee landed with a thump.

I’ll be okay once the bruising quiets down. Pretty sure my ego took the biggest blow. Not a way to end an ideal day.

Permission to write, paint, and imagine are the gifts I gave myself when chronic illness hit - a fair exchange: being for doing. Relevance is an attitude. Humour essential.

      1. It’s so great to hear from you! I completely understand how life and health can get in the way sometimes. I’m glad you’re still a part of this wonderful community – it’s always nice to reconnect. Wishing you all the best as you navigate through everything! I was off blog, but now I’m blogging daily!
