Lesia, our Ukrainian roommate, planted five sunflowers in the garden below my bedroom window. They are now 8 feet tall and still growing!
Our Ukrainian friends visit and marvel at these giant replicas of their national flower. The symbolism does not escape me.

I love sunflowers! Iām growing some for bouquets this year, even though Iām allergic. Still hoping for a fair and peaceful resolution for Ukraine. šŗš¦

Sorry you’re allergic. That’s not good. But you grow them anyway. They are beautiful.

How lovely, VJ. They radiate happiness and warmth. Nature has her way of spreading cheer, doesn’t she. š»

They radiate happiness. May that feeling spread its roots to all the troubled places in the world. (K)

VJ, hello – I don’t keep up like I once did – traveling a LOT since Gary retired – but here I sit at campsite in Colorado mountains reading your sunflower post – warmed (again) by your assistance to Ukranians – and by your terrific photos!

So nice to hear from you. I’m glad you are making use of Gary’s retirement. Travel as long as you can – the not travelling times are long, lol. Thanks so much.
