Texture

This crumbling foundation
a testament to character –
hard battles fought and won.

I built fences, long ago –
tried to bury my fallacies
but all that decays, too

Structures either maintain or not,
but life continues, a constant flow
like a river, softens our perspectives.

Permission to write, paint, and imagine are the gifts I gave myself when chronic illness hit - a fair exchange: being for doing. Relevance is an attitude. Humour essential.

  1. I love both the philosophy and the imagery, honoring the texture, and history of weathered structures, linked with the eternal flow of the river. I find it both immensely sad and immensely hopeful – this resonates with me.
