This life, a road –
the way prepared for me,
signs to guide my way,
and yet, I get lost.
Construction, distraction,
disobedience – throw me off,
I’ve chosen tougher routes,
broken down and been sidelined.
And yet, the road still beckons,
invites progression, thrills.
A rolling stone gathers no moss,
my father liked to say, and so…
I push ahead, keep motoring,
trust the obstacles – more lessons –
will polish off the rough patches,
eventually help me shine.

The idea of trusting that the obstacles and more lessons are meant for our good, is the best thing I’m learning!

I’m thinking about you … this weekend is your departure? Guessing you’ll drive back to Canada, just w/o your “bedroom on wheels”. Safe travels.
And thank you for showing me so much of Texas coast that I’ve not (yet) seen first-hand.

We are taking the RV back with us – were unable to get the right paperwork done to leave it here. Departure is Monday. I have so enjoyed my time here, feel like I have a bit of Texas in my blood now. It will be up to you now to keep me connected through your adventures and poetry.

At least your drive back won’t be a race away from snow & ice …
Our next outing is mid April, just a 2-nighter, but looking forward to returning to Seminole Canyon State Park – near the Rio Grande, in desert part of Texas. Gary used to guide Rock Art Tours there and across the road at The White Shaman Preserve. We haven’t been down there for several years, way overdue a return. One of his retirement hopes is to be a park host at Seminole Canyon for 6 months or so.
