Aesthetic appeal –
a photographer’s aim

give the eye contrasts,
and colours, and frame

each image off centre,
in thirds, is the game.
(For Nancy Merrill’s A Photo A Week Challenge: rule of thirds.
Not sure if the last picture qualifies, but it was too awesome not to include, lol. Girl Power!)
Thirds indeed, you dtew me in, the first one most especially.

I’ve often wondered about the “rule” of odd-numbered “pairings” of things. I once went to a jeweler to have a ring made from an old one with an even number of stones to transfer…he said it like it was law: “I’ll have to add another diamond”. Being still so unassertive (working on that yet, maybe forever), I just went along 🙂

Yet, my daughter who is a decorator, prefers symmetry. To each their own I guess.
