Why are barns red? I looked it up and found something about colourblind cows and rust.
Not that I’m objecting. I like red barns. They are actually quite attractive.
Red Barn was the name of the fast-food restaurant that one of the mother’s at my elementary school used to take us to on Fridays. Greasy fries in paper bags and burgers with pickles and ketchup. Sure beat the tuna sandwich my mom packed everyday.
Anyway, Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge this week is red, so you can blame her for the rambling.

Ours are plain zinc corrugated sheets, sometimes powder-coated in a colour, but rarely. Yours seem far more exciting.

Red is the proper barn color. There’s a blue one near to me, and it’s not bad, but it’s not red either. There was a Red Barn in Saratoga Springs when I was a kid. It went out and a Popes Pizza went in. Building is gone, but Popes is still making pizzas a few blocks away.

I can’t remember when the Red Barn disappeared. I still think of it when we drive by that intersection – a Tim Horton’s is there now. Classic Canadian.
