Drawing Sunflowers

I find my ability to concentrate is lessened by the heartache of what’s going on in the world, and even here at home. I need a focus to calm and carry me through, so I’ve decided to learn to draw sunflowers. Sunflowers, whose symbolism is now so vividly connected with hope and resilience. Here’s where I’m at:

Permission to write, paint, and imagine are the gifts I gave myself when chronic illness hit - a fair exchange: being for doing. Relevance is an attitude. Humour essential.

  1. What a great idea – drawing ca be so therapeutic and then the sunflower has the rich Ukraine connection and floral delight!
    Enjoyed seeing your work.
And side note – on a trip to Florida years ago – maybe 2015…. when my aunt was still alive – I was trying to sketch every day – and almost reached that goal – anyhow – one day I sketched these images from her “French trays” that had copies of masterpieces on them
Anyhow / for some reason those sketches of mine are dear to me in my mind – they remind me of my aunt and I can still see the pages in my mind
