The generosity of friends and neighbours has truly warmed our hearts, as we prepare for our Ukrainian house guests. Inspection of our home is set for this week, and just as everything was coming together… it rained…and we discovered a crack in our foundation.
Drywall has been ripped out, carpet removed, and the back garden dug up to repair the problem.
New flooring, fresh drywall and paint, and we’ll be ready to go again…
Life!
As they say “It’s always something!” May it be quickly remedied, VJ. π

Perhaps, a hurdle but at least it happened before your guests arrived. I hope all goes well.

Oh my – fascinating to ponder the interweaving of seemingly unrelated shifts from normal. (Whatever normal might mean!) Could fantasize the foundation eavesdropping and angsting no, no, not additional bodies, no I cannot support more, no I feel myself giving way … Perhaps your guests will help restore the garden. You are beginning a grand adventure on multiple levels – hurrah for your generosity (and resilience!)

Thanks Jazz. I think it’s Carolyn Myss who said that you know you’re on the right path when all the obstacles try to stop you. Maybe this is just a reminder that we are in for a shake up. Always good, I’d say.

We are in the middle of a pile of renovation work also. It will all be so nice when complete, but until then, oohhh dear! Hope it all works out well!

People here are amazing! Our foundation was fixed within two days, despite how busy contractors are right now. Another is coming Wednesday to repair the floor and wall.
