Clouds, like the hands of some higher being, hold up the sun, obscuring her radiance. I’ve travelled this road before – a dirt path, unfettered by progress – where tombstones mark time and trees bear witness. A mist covers the land, and I have not yet deciphered the omen in it. Still, I will push forward, knowing that reflection is the only salve for days like these, and a good brisk perspective can disperse the mood at any moment, and dare I pause, burdened by the implications, I too will grow listless. Not sure of the destination, nor how long this current state will endure – just know I’m moving on, always thinking of you.
(April is National Poetry Writing Month, and I’ve borrowed a prompt from 2018 to write today’s post. The prompt is to write poetic prose in the form of a postcard. Join me if you will. Image my own)
Gorgeous. I love all the brisk elements in this poem, whipping against my face as I walk on, reflecting.

Hello, V.J. I love your postcard poem and the amazing photo.
I am doing NaPoWriMo 2025 and really appreciating her resources: museums and art galleries, most I have never heard of much less been to, even online – but I intend to explore in May.
Stay warm (inside). Spring is coming – maybe next week.š
