Challenging myself to do better is an ongoing process. I am interested in personal growth and a deeper connection with others and life in general. This quest leads me to be more introspective, and to ask the big questions. I guess you could say, I am a seeker.
As a teacher, I offered my students a weekly challenge as a prompt for journalling. It often helped open discussions. I am thinking that such a challenge might also work for the blogging community.
How it works:
- Check in every Monday morning for the weekly challenge.
- Write a response to the challenge when you feel inspired and post it to your blog.
- Enter the url to your post in the comments below.
- Take time to read and comment on other posts (and I will too!)
- Tag your post VJWC
Here we go!
Challenge #1: Shift
Alter your routine in some small way this week, for example:
- Wake up 10 minutes earlier.
- Go for a fifteen minute walk during your lunch hour.
- Take a different route to work.
- Meditate for five minutes before going to sleep.
Obviously, these are just suggestions. The idea is not to do something that over taxes your already busy schedule – just something that shifts you enough to make a difference. Or maybe, it won’t.
Your response can be in the form of prose, poetry, photograph(s) or whatever moves you.
Look forward to hearing from you. (Even if it’s just to help me with the setup, lol. I am a little cognitively challenged.)
I’ve shifted you up to first in the lineup of my listing of prompt sites on my blog where I tried to list them all. Since I had not yet listed yours, I moved you up to be more noticeable and I plan to reblog this in a few days for those who read the first posting where your site was not mentioned. I loved your first prompt, by the way. Suggesting an activity was a good idea. Here is the link to my rewrite of posting that gave a list of prompt sites: https://judydykstrabrown.com/2018/06/07/topically-distracted/

But, although we all have physical infirmities by my age (I don’t know your age,) mine certainly don’t rival yours. You are staying active in spite of challenges. Good for you.

This was a cool prompt. Taking into account the “shift” period, here, three hours later, is my poem: https://judydykstrabrown.com/2018/06/08/skinny-dipping/

I like the idea of a once-a-week prompt. Takes the pressure off us both. I’m working on this one ( shift) now. It’s a prompt and self-improvement exercise all in one. I also added it to my prompt list on the blog. Later I’ll do another post and mention it again so those who have already read my today’s blog will get a chance to see it. I’ll move it up to the head of the list so it won’t get lost at the bottom.

Today was a shift for me, posting a prompt for Ragtag Daily Prompt. I was nervous about scheduling the post and not sure about all the pingbacks, but I managed it. This my poem about feeling flummoxed today, but surviving the challenge and still learning. https://sgeoil.wordpress.com/2018/06/05/flummoxed/

I was so excited to see you are taking on this challenge – filling in where WordPress left off. Love the poem – feel the fear and do it anyway. I had the same feelings about put myself out there with this challenge.
