Inevitable

Still consumed with tests and medical appointments. Thought we had come to resolution on one issue, but the treatment didn’t work, and so we start again with another biopsy. Likely as frustrated as me, the doctor is now pointing fingers at other medications as being the culprit. Trouble is that I need those treatments to maintain.

Life is like this though, isn’t it? We reach a plateau and think all is good, and then wham. Keep moving, the universe warns: we’re not done with you yet.

Sigh. Holding it together over here, and trying to ignore the holiday season fast approaching. How about you?

Permission to write, paint, and imagine are the gifts I gave myself when chronic illness hit - a fair exchange: being for doing. Relevance is an attitude. Humour essential.

  1. Interactions of medications are hard to manage–I hope they can figure it out. Wishing you a peaceful and restful holiday, even if ignoring it is the only way to achieve it. I was thinking this morning how little spirit I have for the usual rituals this year. (K)

  2. I’m sorry you have to deal with this. It’s difficult when life blindsides us. I find hope in knowing that God is never blindsided. He often has a better plan. Praying God gives your doctors the insight they need to help you. 🙏🏾

  3. How frustrating for you, VJ! And you are right about life. I wake up often with the hope the universe will ignore me. Right now I am trying to figure out an exercise plan (maintain mobility) that balances osteoporosis, osteoarthritis and vertigo. And keep doing art and writing. I wish you all the best in unraveling your medical mysteries. Hugs, Sarah

    1. I just did six weeks of Restorative Yoga, Sarah. The getting up and down was a challenge, but the gentle stretches accompanied by breathing exercises was useful. I juggle those three things as well. Not looking forward to Winter. Take care, and thanks for commenting.
