Having researched all the possible side effects and coming up empty handed – in fact there were few negatives for any part of the treatment – I began to suspect the detox. Another sleepless night and no improvement makes me think it has to be something, so I took a break today and stayed away from it – am feeling a bit better tonight.
The one good thing that has happened since the treatment is that I am actually feeling tired – not the wired, strung out exhaustion of ME/CFS – but the actual worn out ready for sleep tiredness that comes with the promise of restoration. For three days in a row I have napped for two or more hours, a feat that has eluded me these past two years. Sleep means possibility for recovery, does it not?
I am still hopeful.
I know it must be a sacrifice for you to report on your progress while suffering the side effects, so thank you. The hypersensitivity is a bitch! Reiki was the only thing that increased my energy 8 years ago, but last year it made me unbearably sick with detox symptoms.
My PCP has a new associate MD “interested in” functional medicine, but after I move in June, she will be an hour drive away; not sure I want to take that on. I may at least talk with her to decide. I went off my diet for the first time yesterday – a taco salad at a restaurant – and woke up with a fierce headache. I take this as confirmation I am gaining something from avoiding some foods. Hang in there. If we are going to feel crummy anyway, it might as well be for the purpose of healing.

Exactly! You might be interested to know that in his initial testing, the doc found that I was currently sensitive to all foods – didn’t surprise me – my mouth breaks out in sores or swells as well as my stomach. I am feeling better today, so I am thinking it was the detox – restarted it at a lower dosage. Patience is definitely called for, lol.
